Tea Cups and Coffee Mugs

I have been working on a fun new project for my stamp class.  These tea cups and coffee mugs are adorable and so easy to put together!  I was so tickled to see the finished product.  They do not need to be specifically for Mother's or Father's Day, they are versatile for any day.

The dainty pink color decorated with eyelet lace is a perfect little gift for a special lady.

I love the idea of giving a mug to my dad filled with Milky Way Bars... His particular favorite!

To make the cup, you will need a piece of card stock measuring 8 1/4 x 4 1/2.  It will be scored length wise (the 8 1/4 side) at 1 1/2 inches.  Next you will turn the paper so that the 4 1/2 inch side is at the top of your score board.  You will score the width of the card stock at every inch leaving 1/4 inch at the end for adhering.  Fold at each scored line.

The bottom of the cup is the only tricky part.  Using scissors, cut each of the 1 inch scores to the that 1 1/2 inch fold.  You will now have 8 tabs at the bottom of your paper You will cut off the little 1/4 inch piece at the end.

Use Scor-Tape to adhere the upper base of the card.  Attach Score-Tape to 4 of the 8 tabs on both sides. Working from opposite sides, remove the adhesive and fold into the center and attach.  Continue to work your way around the cup until you get to the last of the 8 tabs.  On this fold you will want to put the double taped tab down first to hide the adjesive on the outside of the cup.

The handle is made of a 1 x 6 inch (with the curl) or 1 x 4 1/2 (straight handle).  Fold 3/4 inch and attach to the top of the cup on the inside with Score-Tape.  If you are making the curled end, wrap the paper handle around a thin pencil, and adhere just above the curl.  If you are making the straight handle, simply adhere at the bottom of the piece of paper.

Then decorate!  Enjoy the Creativty!
