Holly Pond Hill Christmas

T'was the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

These Holly Pond Hill Stamps capture the beauty of simple love and family.  I have been collecting these images for quite a while I have loved every one!  I hope you do as well!

Working together to decorate the tree each year is more than half the fun!
Enjoy this season of peace and joy.

Stealing a little morning kiss...

So glad you stopped by… Take a look at the new cards I made this week.  Background paper often makes or breaks a greeting card.  A little trick of the trade when you are using multiple layers, go ahead and cut out the centers of the background papers.  You can then use the "cut outs" for the lettering boxes on the front of the cards.  It is a great way to be a little thrifty with your art work.  Have fun creating!

This Stampin Up set is so beautiful!
I picked up some Penny Black Christmas Acrylic Word Stamps that add the perfect touch!

I love the red background paper.
This is an older Stampin' Up set that I have used many times!

My friend, Lois, gave me the cording for this card.
She was tickled to see the final design.

I put together some new Christmas cards this week… The images were so easy to work with!

One of my favorites is the heralding trumpet.  My friend Brenda and I happened upon this gold paper as we were placing an order.  It adds the perfect touch!

The Gruffie Bear images from House Mouse are so cute!  I had fun creating these cards that would make anyone smile!

Stop back tomorrow to see a few more of my designs.
Happy Holidays!

In the Creative Spirit...

It is that time of year when we take a few extra moments to express our love to those close to us.  It causes me to reflect…

I have been working on a number of Christmas Card Designs.  It has been so fun to pull out the old stamps and paper and use some new ones as well!

Some of my happiest memories growing up center around the holiday season.  I am sure you have a few special ones too!

One of my greatest treasures is the ornament collection that my mom gave me from my grandmother.  They are the beautiful glass balls from her era.  She was born just after the turn of the century.  In her lifetime, our nation, as well as the world community, experienced great transformation…To sit and talk with my grandparents again...

If she was here sitting with me at the kitchen table, I would say, "Gram, it feels like just yesterday that my sister and I picked plums from your tree.  I close my eyes and smell the roses that D-D planted in the yard for each one of his grandkids.  Teach me what you learned.  I know life was hard; tell me how your struggles shaped you… Just one more thing, I want to thank you for giving me the gift of my mom.  I pray that my life is a testimony of all that it means to be family, to be mother, to be daughter."

Quilted Treasures

The holiday season fills my mind with memories of family and friends whom I treasure.  I enjoy sitting in my craft room reflecting and creating a project with loved ones in mind.  My brother and his wife are celebrating their first year wedding anniversary.  I wanted to make them something special.  I debated on colors and designs, but in the end came up with this quilt wall hanging.  I hope it brings them joy as they create their own memories each year.  I pray it is a treasure they can pass down to loved ones close to them.  It is so amazing to see a project come together… I hope they like it!

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.
